Crime Watch. Timers, Safety and You

Crime watch is Eve Online’s system to govern Criminal, Suspect and Limited Engagement Timers. It’s important to stress that while under any of these timers our logistics pilots can not rep you, so it is unlikely you will be invited to join a fleet until your timers have expired. This is also extended to war-decs and kill rights.

At all times in the fleet it is important to have your safety set to green to not be affected by these timers.

Suspect Timer

Suspect timers allow any other player to attack the pilot without penalty while the timer is active. A suspect timer is acquired by taking items from a container or wreck that does not belong to you, having a kill right activated on you, or engaging mobile structures, such as Tractor Units or Mobile Depots. Logistics that rep a pilot with a suspect timer will also receive a suspect timer themselves.

Criminal Timer

A criminal timer will, if triggered, override a suspect timer, and actions that would ordinarily provoke a suspect timer will extend the criminal timer by the same amount. In high-security space, provoking a criminal timer will result in CONCORD reaction and the destruction of the offending ship.

Limited Engagement Timer

Limited engagement timers allow two pilots to freely engage each other or their assets in combat without interference of CONCORD. Limited engagement timers are initiated by shooting a suspect or criminal flagged pilot, or by accepting a Duel Request. It is important to note that even if someone’s criminal or suspect timer expires, a limited engagement timer will remain if it has been initiated between two pilots.
