Vanguard Information

Vanguards are smaller incursion sites meant for fleets of 10 pilots. They are a little different from HQs. We don't move after we enter site, we all stay on the beacon. Your ship does not need a prop mod. The spawns are mostly small ships: frigates and cruisers. Only 1 site has a battleship, and just one per wave. Your ship could benefit from more locking speed and tracking.

Overall incoming damage is a lot lower compared to HQ. Marauders are able to self-rep with a local repper to stay in bastion.

When the fleet consists of mostly sniper marauders, “DPS Tank” is a real thing. Incoming damage drops quickly because things die before they can hit you.

Fits

Vindicator/Nightmare

Swap MWD and MJD for your choice of Sensor Booster and/or Tracking computer. The Vindicator also has the option to go with more webs.

Recommendations:

  • Nightmare +2 Sebo
  • Vindicator +1 Sebo, +1 Web

Kronos/Paladin

Swap MWD and MJD for your choice of Sensor Booster and/or Tracking computer. Replace a plate with a Centus/Corpus X-type Large Armor Repairer, swap a second plate for another dps mod.

Recommendations:

  • Paladin: midslots: 2 Sebo, 2 TC, Lowslots: 4 heatsink, 1 repper, 2 Membranes
  • Kronos: Midslots: 2 sebo, 2 TC, Lowslots: 4 Magstab, 1 repper, 2 Membranes

Logi

In VG sites, aggro tends to focus on one ship at a time (with some troll aggro in OTAs). VG fleets may run without Logi as long as there are enough battle reps on grid. It is the job of all the marauders to battle rep any non-marauder taking aggro. If there are a lot of non-marauders a single Nestor might be advisable. In that case the marauders need to rep the Nestor if it takes aggro, unless it has dual x-type self reps.
